Vibrant Violin (K-4)

Vivacious Violin and Viola Ensemble (5th/6th Grade)

Keyboard for Kids offers two different violin classes according to grade level. All KFK classes are multi-age. Vibrant Violin (K-4) is for children 4th grade and under. Vivacious Violin and Viola Ensemble are for grades 5 and up.

For children who are currently in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade, we offer beginning group violin lessons. Your children will learn:

 How to hold the instrument
 Hold the bow, correct posture and playing position
 Learn to play simple songs with the bow while experiencing many songs and games.

We use games to learn about music history, theory and notation. This is a wonderful and holistic introduction to music and the playing of the violin/viola before it is offered in school.

Vivacious Violin and Viola Ensemble
For those kids who have already started fifth grade and play in a school orchestra KFK offers Vivacious Violin and Viola Ensemble. Come play with other young musicians while learning more advanced techniques like shifting and vibrato. Experience varied, diverse, and exciting repertoire as a group and experiment cool effects including harmonics, col legno, spiccato (and of course vibrato and shifting). To participate in KFK’s Vivacious Violin and Viola Ensemble you must be enrolled in your school’s orchestra program.
